Coaches Corner

Hi, my name is Matt Jackson and I am the new Head Coach at Hadleigh RUFC. I am delighted to be given the opportunity of coaching and working with the 1 st XV senior players. Some are new to the Club but we have retained a number of very experienced and talented players and together we are looking forward to the new season in Eastern Counties 2.

I originally hale from "the land of the long white cloud" which is New Zealand and I have been living in the UK for the past 6 years with my wife Helen and family. As well as living and working in Suffolk I have also played rugby locally therefore I have been aware of Hadleigh RUFC and their past successes.

I am excited to be part of the new team that has aspirations to see the Club progress at all levels, but for me I want to see the 1 st XV return to the London Leagues as soon as possible. To do that, we need to win promotion out of Eastern Counties 2 and 1 which I believe is achievable within the next 5 years or sooner. We have many talented players here with a lot of experience and I am both excited and honoured to be working with them.

Since joining this Club and working with the 1 st XV one motto comes to mind which is used by the Army "Forward as One" which seems appropriate as we are all one club, one team with one ambition. The players, supporters and Members are all behind Hadleigh Rugby Club and together we are moving Forward as One.
